Wow.
I was stunned last week when, unbeknownst to me at the time (and on the day of both my 36th birthday and the homecoming event in Agassiz), the Globe and Mail included Before I Wake on their annual Globe 100, their round-up of the best books of the year. (If you're reading this in the United States, the closest equivalent would be the New York Times list of Notable Books every year.)
Absolutely stunned.
And then this morning I woke up to find that Before I Wake had been included on the National Post's round-up of the year's Best Reads.
I don't really know how to describe my reaction to being included on both of these lists. Thrilled, of course. Honoured. Touched. Giddy at the company I'm keeping.
Just… wow.
