Popping up, gopher-like

Friday, March 9th, 2007

I emerge from my writerly silence and seclusion with news of a couple of upcoming events.

For you Canadian and local folks out there:

Saturday, March 24 – I'll be reading in Victoria as part of the Pacific Festival of the Book, sponsored by the Victoria Arts Connection. The reading is at 2 pm, and is part of a full day of workshops, readings, talks and seminars… Should be fun.

Wednesday, March 28 – for those of you on the mainland, I'll be appearing at the Silk Purse Gallery in West Vancouver (1570 Argyle Street), in an event sponsored by 32 Books. The event starts at 7 pm, and I'll be reading with Nick Bantock, he of Griffin and Sabine fame.

And if you happen to be a bookseller from the Pacific Northwest, well, first off, welcome to my little corner of the net. And secondly, I hope to meet you in person next weekend, when the US edition of Before I Wake gets launched to the bookselling trade.

Saturday, March 17 I'll be appearing at an author breakfast during the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association tradeshow in Portland, Oregon. I'm really looking forward to this — talking about the book in the US for the first time, and having an opportunity to meet a whole new bunch of booksellers… should be fun.

Now, back to the writing. Which, for the record, is going quite well. Sadly, it's not writing on the next novel, but who can argue with another fine short story?
