I had the strangest thought as I was leaving the bookstore Thursday afternoon:
"The next time I walk through these doors, my book will be on sale." Now that's a way to start a long weekend.
Let's see, what else?
My review of Michelle Wan's The Orchid Shroud runs in today's Vancouver Sun (unavailable for the pilfering and re-posting, sadly).
I recorded a 4 minute excerpt from Before I Wake for the Globe and Mail's Books site on Thursday; it should be posted next week. I'll keep y'all posted.
There are several new events listed over on the Tour page, including an appearance at Word on the Street in Vancouver upon my return from Toronto, and a Victoria reading with Wayne Johnston and Kevin Patterson.
At some point this weekend I've got to get my invitation lists finished (launch invites will be sent out beginning of next week, so if I don't have your address, now's your last chance…), I've got a couple of things to review, and I want to finish "Lost Boys" (being sick earlier this week played havoc with my writing routine. There will also, however, be plenty of time for cigars and drink, and a leisurely read of Before I Wake.
Have a good one everybody.
